Thank you to Nancy Grace

Thank you for airing the story we've been trying to get out to the country. Tonight, my friend Bobi was interviewed by Nancy about a story involving a disabled boy who died while evacuating Houston.

Blessed be to Bobi for her hard work and to Nancy for listening!

Young man in Humble, dead in evacuation of HoustonToday at 19:55 »

"Hi all. I am still completely inundated with Katrina and now Rita relief efforts. A friend of mine just wrote up this story and I wanted to share with all of you. YES, I am the one who called 911 earlier today and all I can say is its been a very traumatic experience to say the least. Please copy and paste the story and then email to everyone you know. This is a total injustice and if we keep talking loud enough, someone out there will hopefully listen. (Nancy - please tell me you see this story)"
Love to you all - Bobi 310-922-8229

A Story That Must Be Told NOW!
Team NOLA is a group of volunteers who are trying their hardest to help as many hurricane victims as possible. If only everyone would try to do the same!
Today, our friend Dana was creeping through Humble, TX at a speed of no more than 4 miles per hour. She is in a caravan transporting 19 KATRINA evacuees that have also become RITA evacuees, to Nacogdoches, TX, from Houston, TX.
Dana and her crew left Houston at around 4 a.m. and at around 3:30 p.m. they were only in Humble.
On Hwy 59 in Humble, near the Kingwood exit, two white vans full of disabled children were stopped in the middle of the road. Cars were driving around them as if they were piles of roadkill. The vans had stopped suddenly because one of the disabled children (a 16 year old boy, we believe) had stopped breathing. The caretakers were performing CPR, but received no help from the other drivers. After 30 minutes, Dana finally reached the scene, and pulled over to help. She took down the license plate and called our friend, Bobi, in California. Bobi took the information and called her 911 in California, who patched her through to one in Humble. The operator told Bobi that they had just received a call and were going to dispatch help. The incident began 45 minutes before the first 911 call was received. Who knows how long it took help to arrive. Who knows if anyone even cares about this young person's death. Who knows if anyone out there reading this email will do a d**n thing to be sure the child's death doesn't go unnoticed.
This death was a result of the inability of our people to get organized in times of crises. No one should have to sit in traffic for TWELVE hours to evacuate a city. Who can afford to run an air conditioner for that long? With gas as scarce as it is now on the highways of Texas, running the air conditioning in a vehicle is as dangerous as not running it at all. We all know A/C's use gas, so sitting in traffic for 12 hours would require using up all of the gas on air conditioning, or saving gas for driving the hell out of Dodge.
I do not know if this child died of heatstroke or other causes. I do know that his death could very well have been prevented had our emergency plans been reasonable or well-thought out. Where is the organization? Where is the money for prevention of mass panic and chaos? Where are the reinforcements to help all of these travelers with their evacuation?
Please do not let this issue die with the young disabled man.

No trolls allowed!

I had to close the board because of no time and lack of membership, so I went to a friends group instead.
I have started a group on Yahoo! that deals with only Yankee oriented subjects.
I am looking for new members who are true fans like myself.
I just got this group off the ground and I am looking for articles, statistics, photos, links, and comments.
I started this for two reasons.
One is that I was tired of all the backstabbing, manipulating, humiliating, and general troll-like activity on the Yahoo Yankee board.
Second, is that I already own other boards and I wanted to do something fun.
Click on the link and join, if you're a TRUE fan.
No trolls allowed!

Been thinking about you today...

...Christopher, where are you? Why haven't you called? It's been almost a week since I've heard from you last, which was the day you came over and told me you had a wrestling show to perform that night.
Blessed be to you and your children, Christopher!

I almost forgot to post this

"New York Yankees manager Joe Torre, left, congratulates Jason Giambi after his solo home run helped the Yankees in their 1-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox in a pitchers' duel between Red Sox Tim Wakefield and Yankees' Randy Johnson, Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Yankee Stadium in New York."
How fitting is this? I can't believe I almost forgot to post this.
Blessed be!

Since my Steelers won yesterday, I had to post this.

"Tennessee Titans Travis LaBoy (91) misses the tackle on Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker (39) who broke off a 46-yard run on this third quarter play Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005 in Pittsburgh. On sidelines in background are injured Steelers running backs Duce Staley, left, and Jerome Bettis, right. The Steelers won 34-7"
I hope my two guys in the background will be coming back soon!
GO STEELERS!!

Because my New York Yankees won against the Boston Red Sox. Despite people trying to rain on my sunny day, it's been a good one. Even the Pittsburgh Steelers won, hooray! Thanks to this fellow above in both pics, my favourite baseball team won! Jason Giambi is the MAN!
You gotta love sports! Just look at this handsome devil!

Oh I'm on a mission today

Some people have been irritating me this week and I just can't take it any longer. Those that know me well, know I'm not a follower of the Christian religion. I do not take kindly to people telling me I need to pray, I pray in my own way. I also don't take kindly to people being disrespectful to others when they state their opinion. Our forefathers fought for us to have the right to freedom of speech. So, here I have quoted something from the Christian Bible they may understand because it's in their terms.
"Faith without works is dead" I'm paraphrasing...
"James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."
Thank you, good night, and blessed be!

Oh wait, a few more things...
I am warning some of you now, and you know who you are, that my pot is getting to the boiling point. Perhaps it's time I spill out some of that hot water out. I'm tired of the condescending way I'm being spoken to. I'm tired of the disrespctful backstabbing that the twofaced hypocrites are doing. So, be forewarned, because this Irish/Cherokee woman has had enough.
Now, blessed be to the true!

Reunited, another happy pet story

"Hurricane Katrina refugee Valerie Bennett, of Slidell, La., presses her face to her dog, Lady, after they were reunited at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. She and her husband, Lorne, had to leave behind four of their pets when Lorne, a liver transplant patient, had to be evacuated in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, to a liver specialist for supervision."
Blessed be to the Bennett's and Lady!

Eunice Sly

"Thank you for passing this on Sunny!!! You have serious angel wings xoxoxoxo - Bobi"

Please help some very good friends of mine find their grandmother. Thank you from Bobi and please pass it on.

Name - Eunice Sly Last seen - La Fon Nursing Home, 6900 Chef Menter Hwy, New Orleans. 504-246-1100

Only 34 patients at the home were evacuated by nun sister augustine and taken to The Chataeu Terribone in Homeland LA. No one has heard from any of them since. The family has called the sister Augustine, the Chateau and every where else they can think of. So far no one has been able to verify if Eunice is there or even got out of the original home in New Orleans.

The following email is from Eunice's family: Greetings and blessings to all. We are in need of your assistance. This is not an urban legend but similar to those emails our family is experiencing a crisis and we need your help and your prayers. As I am sure everyone knows, when Hurricane Katrine hit the Gulf Coast this past week, there was mass chaos in evacuating people from the city of New Orleans. My aunt and the grandmother of two of my cousins has been lost in that process. Her name is Eunice Sly and she does have early stage altzheimers. If you are in a city where evacuees have been brought please look at the attached picture and help us by going to the shelter or evacuation center to see if you see her. Or, would you call the evacuation sites and give her name to ask if she is there. We welcome any suggestions you may have as to how to find her. If you are not in an area that has received evacuees, please pray for us that we know what resources and direction to go to find her. Likewise, if you have friends or relatives in cities where evacuees were brought, would you please forward this email and picture to them and ask them to look for her or inquire about her. We know that our family is not the only family experiencing this situaion and, our prayers are with all who have been devastated by this catastrophic situation in any way, but we ask that you assist us in our effort to find our loved one. If you do see her or call and find that someone by that name or description is there, please respond to cbrewo8@aol.com andreabrew@aol.com hardcorecoastie@excite.com l_lacour@bellsouth.net cmlacour@yahoo.com rentlady@myway.com

Blessings to you and your family on your journey.

Blessed be to Eunice and her family!

The official thank you

"Habitat for Humanity thanks you for sharing your heart! Your donation will directly support our mission to build simple, decent shelter for families that are currently living without it. You've also helped to build a sense of brotherhood and faith within families and communities in the United States and around the world. Thank you again for your contribution and we hope that you will encourage others to join in the Habitat mission!"
This is what I received in the email when I made our donation to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
Blessed be!

Today's notes

After careful consideration, our group and others have decided to donate what has been monitarily collected to the Habitat for Humanity instead of the Red Cross. This was agonized over for quite some time. Many blankets have been made by hand and sent to those in need in Texas. Many baby clothes, older childrens' clothes, dry goods and sanitary supplies have been shipped as well. Homes to rent, utilities, food and employment have been given as well. I am so proud of our effort for the displaced from Hurricane Katrina. I want to thank all of those who have taken the time to aid those in dire straits. Though these people will need assistance for quite some time, I know our effort is greatly appreciated. I know I can lay my head down at night, thankful for what I have and blessed for what I have done for those in need from this situation. I don't need to know their name, I don't care what color their skin is, I don't need to know their social status, all I need to know is that I have helped to lessen the burden they are carrying upon their shoulders.
Tonight, I have found that there are some who feel that only prayer is needed for these people. Yes prayer is good but that doens't feed the children who can't sleep at night because of nightmares, whose tummies are aching for lack of food, who are missing their moms and dads and even their pets.
We shouldn't point a finger in blame at anyone but those who sit and do nothing to help. Shame on those who have made this a political backdrop. We are Americans, let's start showing what that reallly means.
I also found out that some people think they know all of what happened in the Gulf region just by judging what they heard in passing. I have researched information and listened to first hand accounts, so I am pleading for these people not to assume all is coming up roses.
If anyone ever needs to know more of my opinions on this, please feel free to contact me.
Blessed be!

Looks like a warzone

"Marine One, carrying President Bush, takes an aerial tour over Lousiana in areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina, Friday, Sept. 2, 2005. Bush toured the Gulf Coast communities battered by Hurricane Katrina, hoping to boost the spirits of increasingly desperate storm victims and exhausted rescuers."

They love to hang out on this truck, how funny!!
Blessed be!

I can't take it any longer!

This poor woman sifts through what's left of her home in Gulfport,
While all these supplies sit in a warehouse in Canada!
"A worker walks down rows of hospital and emergency relief supplies that sit ready for relief use for hurricane Katrina victims if American officials need them according to officials at Public Health Agency of Canada, in Ottawa."
Isn't there any place at all for these people? Why is there an abundance of supplies not being used?
Blessed be to the dsiplaced!

Back to a happy note

Here are those wonderful little ladies in my roommie"s truck!
Blessed be!

Our President is an ASS!

"US President George W. Bush speaks to the press before boarding Marine One in Washington, DC. Bush is making a visit to the states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana to survey the devastation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina"
How about instead of talking about it, do something about the stranded people! Do something about the sick, the homeless, the children who will have nightmares over this!
Blessed be to the innocent!

Syndey

Syndey is the lady who has been our Help Me Grow correspondant. She has been so wonderful to us. She has helped very much with referrals, doctors, specialists, MRDD and just about anything you can think of. Baby just loves her. I don't know what I'm going to do when Baby turns three!! We will no longer have Help Me Grow when she is three, that's their limit.
Blessed be!
