Please be respectful, this precious 2 year old boy is still missing and these wonderful people have said prayers in his honor.

Where?

Where is my love?
Where is my heart?
I've given it away,
And it got ripped apart.

All the good times
And all the bad,
I have endured
And they've made me sad.

I once had a love
That withstood time,
But now I don't know
If he is really mine.

Where is my love?
Where is my heart?
I'll love him until the end
And remain torn apart.

Abigale Lynn Woods

Abducted newborn found alive, suspect taken into custody
10:51 PM CDT on Tuesday, September 19, 2006

UNION, Mo. (AP) -- A newborn girl who was abducted from her mother was found alive Tuesday and was in excellent condition, according to the doctor who treated her. Meanwhile, the woman who allegedly abducted the baby after stabbing the child's mother was arrested.Dr. Peter McCarthy, an emergency room physician at St. John's Hospital in Washington, Mo., said 11-day-old Abigale Lynn Woods has been reunited with her mother, father and other relatives. She was expected to be released from the hospital later Tuesday. The family has declined to speak with the media. "The family is elated and thankful to everyone in the community who prayed for them," McCarthy said. "The baby was hydrated, nourished and in good condition when she arrived at the hospital." FBI Special Agent Roland Corvington identified the suspect as Shannon Beck, who lives just a few miles from the home where Abigale was kidnapped. The case broke when Beck's sister-in-law, Dorothy Torrez, contacted authorities. "She's the hero," Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke said. "She's the one that made it happen." Corvington gave this account: On Sunday, Beck contacted Torrez to say she had given birth. Corvington said Beck had been pregnant but apparently miscarried shortly before her own child was to be born. Torrez paid a visit Monday, and urged Beck to take the child to a doctor. Beck agreed to do so, and Torrez accompanied her to the doctor's visit Tuesday in St. Louis, about 45 miles away. Torrez noticed what appeared to be makeup on the baby's forehead. When she rubbed the forehead, makeup came off that was covering a small birthmark. In publicizing the abduction, police had described Abby's strawberry-red birthmark. Her suspicions aroused, Torrez confronted Beck, who gave her the baby. Torrez contacted police, and the baby was handed over to authorities around 5 p.m. Tuesday. "An outstanding ending, obviously," Toelke said. "You talk about a lead breaking the case, and this was it." Toelke said the county prosecutor would address criminal charges on Wednesday. The child's mother, 21-year-old Stephenie Ochsenbine, told police Friday a woman entered her rural home, attacked her with a knife and stole the baby, who was a week old at the time. Ochsenbine was released from a hospital Sunday. Earlier Tuesday, authorities intensified the search around the family's home near Lonedell, blocking off highways and roads leading to the residence. At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, police addressed whispers that perhaps a family member was responsible, saying they had found no evidence of that and noting that the father, James Woods, had passed a polygraph test and the mother's injuries were consistent with an attack. Police had received more than 500 leads in an investigation that drew international attention. It wasn't immediately clear what led them to the abandoned building. The search clearly intensified Tuesday afternoon as a helicopter circled the area above Abby's home, sometimes as low as 50 feet above the ground. Missouri Route 47, which runs by the home, was blocked off as search dogs scoured the yard and divers searched two nearby ponds. Robert Bardot, who owns property near Ochsenbine's home, said FBI agents contacted him and asked to search houses on nearby properties he owns. He said agents searched the same properties Sunday, and he wasn't sure why they were returning. It wasn't immediately clear if the woman and baby were found in one of his homes. Ochsenbine graduated from St. Clair High School in 2004. In the high school yearbook that year, she said she planned to go to cosmetology school and own her own salon. Ochsenbine told police she did not know the woman who came to her door and entered the house after asking to use the telephone. Ochsenbine's throat was slashed before the baby was taken. Authorities said that after lying unconscious, Ochsenbine gathered up her 1-year-old son, Connor, who was unharmed, and went to a neighbor's home to seek help. Fliers showing the baby were posted in gas stations and restaurants throughout Franklin County. The 6-pound girl, born Sept. 8, has dark brown hair, dark eyes and a strawberry birthmark on her forehead. The abductor had been profiled as someone who had a child die recently or as someone who could not have children, told people she was pregnant and needed to steal a child so her lie would not be found out. Experts in child abductions say kidnappings by strangers are extremely rare.

More on Trenton Duckett

Trenton Duckett Investigation

Leesburg Police say new leads are helping them recreate a timeline for Melinda Duckett's whereabouts, the weekend her 2-year-old son vanished from his home.Police say, so far they know that on August 26, Melinda and Trenton Duckett were last seen reportedly at her grandparent’s home in the Villages, at 4 p.m. That is where the time lapse begins.

Investigators are now trying to piece together where the pair was from 4 p.m. August 26 until the evening of August 27. Right now Leesburg Police say two credible sources reportedly saw Melinda Duckett at separate locations without Trenton on August 27, just hours before the toddler was reported missing. Capt. Steve Rockefeller said, "The first sighting is of Melinda was at a Leesburg business around 8 a.m. Sunday morning without Trenton. The person reporting this information was interviewed and is familiar with Melinda by sight but did not know her personally. The second sighting was of Melinda seen walking from her car to her apartment on Sunday around 3 p.m. without Trenton. The individual reporting this information knows Melinda on an acquaintance basis. Police are now asking anyone who may have seen or babysat Trenton during either of the two time frames just mentioned, to report to the proper authorities at 1-800-CALL-FBI

Monday was another day of searching and still no sign of Trenton. Despite searches in numerous locations very few clues about what happened to him have turned up. Capt. James Pogue from the Marion County Sheriff's Office said, "A lot of the area especially the areas that are close to Farles Lake we've searched three or four times."Investigators hope another look will bring them closer to Trenton Duckett. A tipster reported seeing Melinda Duckett in the area on the day her son disappeared. Divers plunged into the murky waters looking for clothes, toys or anything belonging to the missing toddler. Ground crews armed with machetes marched into the surrounding woods. "We're used to this type of terrain. We've worked these types of cases before. This is nothing new to us. We have the tools and the equipment and the manpower to be able to do it," Capt. Pogue said.Leesburg police tell News 13 that on Saturday, they had 17 canine search teams from Marion County, Search and Rescue of Central Florida and Sarasota Seach and Rescue helping with the search. In addition, they had around 100 searchers and support personnel on site looking for Trenton Duckett or any evidence of his whereabouts.

However, part of the problem with searching the water is that it is murky and there is a natural impediment, alligators. Police say it takes a special person to go down into that type of water with that kind of circumstances and they truly appreciate all of the help the divers are providing. On Sunday, Marion County and Lake County dive team members continued searching Farles Lake. Searchers covered the ground they wanted to cover yesterday, so no ground searching is planned for today. Searchers covered a 6 mile stretch of forest road 595 and a 5 mile stretch of 588.

Leesburg investigators, F.B.I., and F.D.L.E. officials are spending today regrouping, debriefing, and following up additional leads described as routine. Police will not speculate on that direction as this will likely take a few days.In another part of the investigation, the Marion County Sheriff's Office has requested that the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission try to catch an 8-foot alligator in the same lake where they are search for Trenton Duckett.

The alligator has not posed a threat to the divers and is not suspected in the disappearance of Trenton Duckett, however investigators want to rule out any possibilities. An alligator trapper is going to attempt to trap the gator this evening. If any alligators are caught, their stomachs will be examined for any evidence such as bone, fabric and hair remnants.

Again, investigators are asking anyone with information on Trenton Duckett's whereabouts to call the Leesburg Police Department or call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI

News 13 will continue to bring you the latest on the Trenton Duckett Investigation as information warrants.

Melinda Duckett's MySpace Blogging

Melinda Duckett's MySpace Posts

Below you can find the text of the posts that Melinda Ducket wrote on MySpace.com. Special thanks to the people at http://crimeblog.us for helping finding all of this material. These postings are in no particular order.

I set my expectations too high, They were already in place before you came by. It's not your fault for this disaster, the actions were made and the warnings after. I should have made known what I look for, not throwing attention out the door. To this day no man has come close, to the values I swallow in a heavy dose. No one can match what i expect, flawless in everything and even perfect. Because of a child I search not only for I, the search presses on until the day that I die. Apologies given now are far too cold, I've given your affection to the open road. Just move on and find a lover, to help you mend and recover. You thought that I was in your dream, a wonderful surprise or so it did seem. I led you on and should have known, fairytale love I refuse to condone. And then once again you did it too, assumptions took flight and you watched as they flew. The ones of me you made in your head, words you never should have said. You trusted a rogue that follows defiance, and somehow attempted to make an alliance. But I can not be tamed to what you want, I run around with attitude to flaunt. Let me roam on and continue my search, stay a friend and do not be hurt.

Negativity coming from all around, the horrid eventswere funeral bound. And somehow through the dismal grey, I saw a light along my way. He swooped me up so casually, opened a new possibility. A solid future that he held, right at my feet it befelled. Much in common that we had, dripping away what made us sad. Captured in the thoughts he gave, it was my dreams he had saved. Hoping that he would stay, by my side from day to day. I'd let him hold me by my hand, and by his side I would stand. Not moving so fast that we can't see, the obstacles that could be. But how to tell if he feels the same, or in silence should my lips remain? Tell me how to conquer this, to live in peace and happiness.

WHY CAN NOT ANYONE UNDERSTAND, THE BURDENS I HOLD WITHIN MY HAND. LIFE CAN NOT BE ALL FUN FOR I, SO MANY ISSUES THAT I HAVE TO HIDE. THEY HOLD ME DOWN FROM DREAMS I'VE HAD, THEY KEPT ME MOVING WHEN I AM SAD. OBSTACLES I FACE AT EVERY BEND, THE PAIN I ENDURE YOU CAN NOT MEND. STAY OUT OF MY AFFAIRS AND LET ME BE, YOU THINK I ONLY LIVE IN MISERY. WHY CAN'T YOU TELL HOW CONTENT I'VE BECOME, WHEN ALL OF MY TASKS ARE FINALLY DONE. MY INDEPENDENCE HAS BROUGHT ME HERE, I CAN GAIN SECURITY AND FIGHT MY FEAR. SET IN MY WAYS THE DAYS PASS BY, I FOLLOW MY SCHEDULE, NOT A CLOUD IN THE SKY. "IS THERE NOT BOREDOM?" YOU MAY ASK, NOT SEEING THE SATISFACTION OF MY TASK. OUR LIVES HAVE SETTLED UPON DIFFERENT PAGES, PROVING THAT WE ARE AT DIFFERING STAGES. MY LIFE IS ADVANCED FAR BEYOND YOUR YEARS, NO OFFENSE IS IMPOSED TO YOU MY DEAR. IT'S JUST HOW I'VE GROWN BY BEING RAISED, ON THE LEFT SIDE OF A REBEL I HAD BRAZED. NO AUTHORITY CAN TAME WHO I'VE BECOME, AND ONLY I DICTATE WHEN IT'S ALL DONE. NO MAN CAN HANDLE THE FIRE I POSSESS, MY HEART IS NOT GIVEN UPON THEIR REQUEST. SO WHY CAN NOT ANYONE UNDERSTAND, THE BURDENS I HOLD AND WHAT I DEMAND?

HOW COULD YOU BE IN THE RIGHT STATE OF MIND, DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT YOU'VE LEFT BEHIND? I WANT YOU TO STAY HERE IN MY LIFE, BUT DO NOT STUMBLE UPON MY STRIFE. I'VE TRIED SO HARD TO CONTAIN THE BAD, AND ALL THE TROUBLES THAT I HAVE HAD. I DO NOT WANT THEM TO HURT YOU TOO, I KNOW WHAT HARM MY EVILS CAN DO. BUT TRY AS I MIGHT MY HEART WON'T RELEASE, THE YEARNING I HAVE TO BE AT PEACE. I DREAMT OF THE DAY MY PRINCE WOULD ARRIVE, DELIVERING ME FROM THE HELL I HAVE DERIVED. TO MAKE MY LIFE INTO SOMETHING WORTHWHILE, TO PUT ON MY FACE AN EFFORTLESS SMILE. AND HERE YOU ARE STANDING AT MY DOOR, AND THERE IS MY PRIDE LAYING ON THE FLOOR. I BROKE INTO PIECES HAVEN'T YOU SEEN, FROM A MASK OF SINS I MUST BE REDEEMED. I WARNED YOU OF THE BAGGAGE I DRAG, AND HOW DEEPLY MY INNOCENCE HAS BEGUN TO SAG. SO IN THE FUTURE SHOULD MISERY COME, I SENT THE WARNING THAT HAD TO BE DONE. NOW UNTIL THAT DAY MY HEART IS FOR YOU, UNTIL THAT DAY YOU DECIDE THAT YOUR THROUGH. DO WHAT YOU MUST, YOUR HEART NEEDS PROTECTION, AND PERHAPS ONE DAY I'LL LEARN MY LESSON. NOONE SHOULD LOVE A WRETCH SUCH AS I, ALONE MUST I DWELL UNTIL THE DAY THAT I DIE.

I HAVE NO REGRETS BECAUSE THROUGHOUT MY LIFETIME, FROM THE OBSTACLES THAT I'VE CONQUERED, I HAVE LEARNED VALUABLE LESSONS THAT I CARRY ON TODAY. THOSE LESSONS HAVE MOLDED THE PERSON THAT I AM TODAY AND SO IF BY SOME CHANCE I COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND CHANGE SOME OF THE MORE DRAMATIC EVENTS (OR EVEN THE NOT SO DRAMATIC BECAUSE EVERYTHING CAUSES A RIPPLE EFFECT, EVEN IF WE DON'T SEE IT RIGHT AWAY) I WOULDN'T BE WHO I AM TODAY. THIS SAME CONCEPT APPLIES TO EVERYONE. UNFORTUNATELY IN THE TIME OF EVENTS YOU DON'T TEND TO THINK THIS POSITIVELY AND RIGHT NOW I REGRET AN ACTION THAT I MADE RECENTLY. I LET OUT A SECRET THAT I SHOULD HAVE KEPT TO MYSELF AND COULD HAVE JUST POSSIBLY GIVEN WAY TO THE CHANCE OF A LOSS. I WISH I COULD RETRACK MY WORDS, NO MATTER THE WONDEROUS THINGS THAT THEY COULD HAVE BROUGHT BECAUSE NOW I AM THINKING THAT I WOULD RATHER HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF FRIENDSHIP RATHER THAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL.

I Will, I Will, I Wont I can fly on my two wings, I can sing the bible hymns. I can tell whats wrong from right, I can be a pleasant sight. I will go to school each day, I will study before I play. I will say thank you when I should, I will say sorry for whats misunderstood. I can paint a smile upon my face, I can blend into a different race. I can cry for all Ive lost, I can go on for all its cost. I will hide the bruises upon my arms, I will never admit my bodily harm. I will silently sink into myself, I will live on without anyones help. I can keep the memories hid, I can hide them away from everyones bid. I can cry myself to sleep, I can let go of the troubles I keep. I will not fall deeply in love, I will refuse this angel from above. I will not let mother interfere, I will wipe away every tear. I can isolate myself from it all, I can stray from those so tall. I can see he doesnt love me, I can tell that I should flee. I will leave before Im hurt, I will with fate become a flirt. I will hide my emotions ever so strong, I will for once admit that Im wrong. December 8th, 2003

It happened twice before and my heart was thrown out the door, And I was forced to regret. They never loved me and it took so long to see, But never again would I fret. My heart would stay guarded, all love was discarded, I would be alone and yet strong. fun with my friends and no relationships to mend, It wasnt long til I realized I was wrong. Going about my own, reaping what I had sown, And not a care had I in the wind. Did my own thing, threw out the ring, All until the day that I met him. What a surprise with fear in my eyes, Of being attracted once more. I cautioned my heart and played out my part, Little did I know what was in store. For all the lessons I learned and times Id been burned, Somehow it melted away. He tore down defenses, I was lost in my senses, And somehow I wished he would stay. The words he had said, my heart they had led, On to that floating cloud. Blue eyes that tore right deep in your soul, It all made me feel so proud. It was love that I felt and I wanted to melt, Each time I laid in his arms. The feelings were strong yet I may have been wrong, To swoon over his wooing and charm. For now he sees that it is not me, That he wants for his girl. My eyes ready to cry and love will die, As my heart on the floor will curl. How much pain must I feel and wounds that I must heal, Before I find a love thats real? Everyone seems happy, everyone excluding me, The one whose love no one can feel. March 27, 2006

ABORTION...YEAH, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE AGAINST IT, MANY ARE FOR IT...AND ALL THE WHILE OVER 75% OF THOSE PEOPLE ARE TOO DAMN STUBBORN TO HEAR THE OTHER SIDE AND ACT NAIVE, THINKING THAT EVERYONE ELSE IS WRONG ABOUT THIER OPINIONS AND THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT HAVE THE CORRECT ANSWERS. PERSONALLY, I FEEL THAT IT DOES DEPEND ON THE SITUATION. FOR EXAMPLE, IF SOMEONE IS RAPED, THEN OF COURSE, THEY SHOULD BE OFFERED THE OPTION OF ABORTION. I EVEN STRETCH SO FAR AS TO ALLOW THE OCCASIONAL AVERAGE WOMAN WHO MISHAPS AND BECOMES PREGNANT FOR EITHER NOT USING PROTECTION OR FOR HAVING IT FAIL WHEN USED. BUT THE LINE IS DRAWN WHEN WOMEN BEGIN TO USE ABORTION AS A REGULAR FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL. IT IS THEIR BODY AND YES, THEY SHOULD HAVE THE FINAL SAY. HOWEVER, PERSONALLY I WOULD NOT DO THIS. IT IS NOT RIGHT FOR INDIVIDUALS OR THE GOVERNMENT TO TAKE THIS FREEDOM AWAY. SOME SAY IT IS TAKING LIFE INTO YOUR HANDS AND ACTING AS GOD, BUT WHAT OF THOSE WHO DO BELIEVE IN GOD? YES, OUR GOVERNMENT IS BASED ON THE BELIEFS OF OUR FOREFATHERS AND IT IS PLAUSABLE FOR THOSE TYPE OF LAWS TO BE MADE. IF SOMEONE DISAGREES, THEY CAN PROTEST BECAUSE WE ARE A FREE COUNTRY, BUT IN THE END, IF THEY DO NOT LIKE THE LAWS, THEN THEY SHOULD NOT LIVE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. EVEN THOUGH UNITED STATES CITIZENS MUST FOLLOW THE LAWS WITHIN THE COUNTRY, I CONTINUE TO BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD BE THE INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHT TO CHOSE WHETHER OR NOT THEY HAVE THE ABORTION PROCEDURE. I AM NEITHER PROLIFE NOR PROCHOICE BECAUSE I MY BELIEFS SWING IN THE CETNER OF BOTH.

Da Vincis CodeEdited by Dan Burstein Produced by Ron Howard On a warm Friday night my friends and I went to the movie theaters in the Lake Square Mall in Leesburg, Florida. We had our entire evening planned out and our schedule included seeing the newly released entertainment controversy, Da Vincis Code. After watching this magnificent film a whole new spectrum of theories were brought to my attention, all surrounding the lessons of Jesus Christ that I had been taught since birth. When once I had been believing that there were some divine being above us, but not quiet positive that was what I felt was correct in my being and taking on the vast majoritys religion, now I have a more scientific and reasonable hypothesis to base my questions on. Da Vincis Code was edited by Dan Burstein and produced into a controversial movie by Ron Howard. This entertainment piece focused on one main question, Is Jesus real? To answer that, many surrounding inquiries were made. Those included such questions as, Who really was Mary Magdalene?, Could she have been the mother of Jesus child?, Does the royal blood line of Christ carry down into todays time?, Is there in fact a secret organization that keeps a truth about Christ secret to protect their own power?, and so many more. The summary of this novel and theatrical performance can be simplified and broken down into simple terms for the average college student. The main characters of this red carpet film include famous actors and actresses of today, including, Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, and Paul Bettany. The setting is put into the historical and most beautiful country of France, with its masterpieces of art and architecture. This story begins within a historical museum, containing great pieces of artwork that have become historical landmarks throughout time. The drama begins with a highly acknowledged professor being shot after being chased heartlessly down by a Catholic angel sent to protect the secret of Jesus bloodline. The professor had just enough life left in him to leave clues in his close surroundings for his good friend, played by Tom Cruise and his granddaughter to follow. The Catholic was protecting the bloodline by searching for the holy grail that was lost in time and also for Mary Magdalenes corpse, for it held that DNA that could prove Jesus decedents. The professor knew the location of both and that is why he was hunted. Luckily enough, the antagonist not only gave a false location to the Catholic for both items, he also left the truth behind to be found by the heroes in this story. One of clues that the professor left were masochist-like carvings on his body that he himself had cut. Also, on the floor he left a message that could only be seen by black light as a request for his dear friend, Tom Hanks. When the French police find this message, they find Tom and bring him to the crime scene, which is how he and the professors granddaughter first meet. From there on, the story unravels as they follow the professors clues. First from painting to painting within the museum and then on to historical landmarks throughout the surrounding areas, Tom and the professors granddaughter, played by Audrey Tautou, go on the great hunt. Using their resources and personal knowledge, the two follow not only the facts and clues, but also their hearts. Many dangers and opposing entities follow them, either for the riches or the secrets in which they are trying to keep hidden. Yet, no matter what the obstacles, the protagonist prevailed, the truth was reveled and justice was yielded. The granddaughter realized that she was not related to the professor after all and that in truth, she was the last true descendent of Jesus Christ himself. Her family had been killed in hopes to cover the trail of DNA and it was intended that she die also. However, when the plan did not conform, the professor, also a leading player in the entire scheme of hiding the facts, took her in as a little girl and raised her as his own. The holy grail was found and the message revealed to those worthy, allowing the secret of where Mary Magdalenes corpse lay, to be known. This theory has factual accounts written into it and enough actual truths to make me seriously acknowledge it. I am extremely open to listening to every opinion and theory available and this is no different. Personally, I do not fully believe what the Christian churchs preach and I do not feel that you must conform within a congregation one or more times within any given week. I tend to lean towards more scientific arrays and possibilities, while entwining my own opinions. I have continued to look into this particular theory even after viewing the movie in theaters and have not made my own conclusion as of yet.

I HAVE LIVED FOR MANY THINGS THROUGHOUT MY LIFETIME, LIVED AND LEARNED LESSONS THAT HAVE MADE ME THE PERSON THAT I AM: WHETHER THAT BE A GOOD THING OR NOT IS LEFT TO YOUR OPINION. BUT THOSE LESSONS TRUELY HAVE SHAPED MY VALUES AND ONE COMPONENT THAT I HOLD EXTREMELY VALUABLE IN MY LIFE, IS MY SON. HIS NAME IS TRENTON AND I HAVE A FEELING THAT MANY OF THE PEOPLE I TALK TO DO NOT KNOW ABOUT HIM AND EVEN MAY STOP TALKING TO ME AFTER THEY READ THIS. (BEING THE FACT THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DATE ME INSTEAD OF BEING FRIENDS AND DO NOT WANT A CHILD INVOLVED) OF COURSE THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SHALLOW AND I DO NOT WANT THEM INVOLVED IN MY LIFE ANYWAY. BUT NOT TOO AWFULLY LONG AGO AND CONTINUED INTO THIS VERY DAY,I HAVE HAD TO FIGHT TO KEEP MY SON, WHOM I AM EXTREMELY PROUD OF. THE FATHER LIED TO THE AUTHORITIES WHOM WERE FRIENDS OF HIS FAMILY, FORCED ME TO JUMP THROUGH LEGAL AND EMOTIONAL HOOPS. NOW THAT I AM ON TOP OF THE SITUATION, I AM STRUGGLING TO STAY IN THE MIDDLE CLASS AS A CITIZEN OF FLORIDA. I WORK HARD TO PUT THE ROOF OVER MY SON'S HEAD AND GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE NEEDS. I TAKE MY RESPONSIBLITIES SERIOUSLY AND EVEN THOUGH I MAY GO OUT AND RELAX EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, I ONLY DO SO TO DETOX FROM ALL THE STRESS JUST SO I CAN RETURN TO THE LONG TO-DO LIST THAT I HAVE ACQUIRED. I LIVE FOR MY SON RIGHT NOW AND BECAUSE I HAVE MATURED BEYOND MY YEARS AND BEEN FORCED TO TAKE ON TASKS THAT THE AVERAGE TWENTY YEAR OLD DOES NOT NORMALLY HAVE TO DEAL WITH, I WANT EVERYONE TO KNOW HOW PROUD I AM TO BE WHO I AM. I STAND UP FOR WHAT I HAVE BECOME AND WHAT I BELEIVE IN. ANYONE THAT THINKS IT'S AMUSING TO PLAY GAMES ON SOMEONE THAT WORKS SO HARD AND DILIGENTLY AS I DO, NEEDS TO TAKE A DOUBLE TAKE ON THEMSELVES AND RE-EVALUATE THIER OWN GOALS IN LIFE. I WILL CERTAINLY ADMIT THAT I HAVE NOT LED THE MOST HONORABLE LIFE AND I HAVE MADE MY MISTAKES. I WISH I COULD TAKE BACK MUCH OF THE TROUBLE THAT I HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN, AS I AM SURE OTHERS THINK THE SAME IN THEIR LIVES. I AM SORRY FOR THE MISUNDERSTANDINGS WITH FRIENDS AND FOES AND RIGHT NOW I AM AT A POINT THAT I ONLY WANT PEOPLE TO THINK RIGHT OF ME. IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO CHANGE THE WRONGS THEN BE MATURE ENOUGH TO LET ME KNOW. DON'T RUN BEHIND MY BACK AND ACT LIKE A CHILD, SAYING ANYTHING NEGATIVE THAT COMES TO YOUR MIND. EVERY PERSON IS A SINNER, YET EVERY PERSON CAN ALSO BE REPENTED. FIND THE FORGIVENESS IN YOUR HEART AND MOVE ON. I HAVE EXCEPTED THE BULLSHIT THAT I HAVE PUT OUT THERE AND SURELY, NOT INTENTIONALLY, I WILL ADD MORE TO THE MIXING POT IN THE FUTURE. BUT I AM TRYING TO MAKE A GOOD LIFE FOR MYSELF AND TRENTON AND I FEEL THAT DESERVES MY PEERS RESPECT.

i have news for all those fakers out there that try to lie, cheat, and play the game...your not right. your morals are f****d up, your personality sucks, and you won't make it very far in life. infact i hope you end up alone and miserable...sitting in your room every night thinking about the low, dirty c*** you've put people through. think about how you've hurt them and i hope that eventually you feel all the pain and suffering, all the heartaches you've caused and i hope that they're ten fold worse. i hope that for the rest of your life your miserable and lonely. the world: cold and dark, seemingly that everyone you've ever loved has abandoned you and left you to your thoughts. the ironic part will be that you have a good job, have the money, a nice house, a family....wife and maybe one or two kids...the only problem, it's your past that's haunting you. i wish you all the gold in the world, but your feelings....will be forever hurting and lost in the vast arena of heartbreaks....the arena that you created for the ones that fell for you, the ones that you thought you could play but they found out about your game and were hurt so deeply by your arrogance. you'll remember all of the hurtful things you have ever done to anyone else, all the lies will be turn around and be played on you, all the lonely nights will come back to you...your wife will cheat on you after years of faithful loyalty, or so you thought it was, your children will turn from you and leave you alone with your empty house and empty life. congrats. you've played the game and these are the rewards that you're heading towards. eventually everyone will realize what kinds of bu****** you're capable of and they will understand that you will reap what you soe. it will all come back around to you and you deserve every bit of it. those people that realize it, will have nothing to do with you unless they are as low as you are...those are the kinds of friends...the only kind of friends you will have. good luck with your life players and have fun being lonely. believe me, in the years to come, you'll come to the point where you'll look back and the past WILL COME TO HAUNT YOU.

well, i as a fellow myspacer, don't understand the immaturity and drama that is brought on this very website. first of all, let me begin with the simple fact that myspace was created in fact to make friends and meet new people, hook up with old buddies, and enjoy your time on your pc. why then is the fact that some individuals do not comply to the very essence of myspace and are against meeting new aquaintances? why is do they think it is wrong that you make new friends, possibly ones that you may have for your whole lifetime? why deny that simple pleasure? some drama addicts find it amusing to cause trouble when people try to make friends, some try insulting the innocent with harsh and immature remarks, some even make flowery language a pathetic way of flirting with people that they shouldn't be flirting with to begin with. what is the meaning of all this...all this bul*****? why do people constantly try to seclude themselves from others and keep people from being the fun and outgoing people that they are? it did occur to me that some people may be starting this trouble. some people find gossip addictive, others tend to keep secrets...i've got two friends that caught thier girlfriends finding people on myspace, meeting them, and then cheating...the catch is that the boys they were cheating with never knew that they were with anyone because the girl never told them...it's happend visa versa. shame on those *****les. oh, well. i'm thankful for my wonderful friends, family, boyfriend, acquaintances....for they are good people and NEVER would do such things. as i sit back and watch those awful things happen to poor individuals, i wonder, 'how can dickheads be so shallow and basically fucked up?' well, i hope these terrible sins never befall anyone that i know. continue your innocent lives and stray far from any of this foolishness. (hehehehe...i'm d*** good ya'll)

NOW, THIS REALLY DOESN'T HAVE ANY BIG MEANING BEHIND IT OR INTELLECTUAL BACKGROUND...I JUST WANT TO GET SOME MORE OF MY OPINIONS OUT THERE AND LET THE WORLD SEE A PART OF ME THAT THEY HAVEN'T SEEN BEFORE. WHAT DO YOU DEFINE LOVE AS? I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT'S AN EMOTION....IT MAKES YOU DO CRAZY THINGS AND LOSE YOUR COOL AND ACT LIKE A FOOL, BECOME ROMANTIC WHEN YOUR NOT, TRY TO PLEASE ANOTHER EVEN THROUGH WAYS THAT DO NOT DEFINE YOUR PERSONALITY...YOU THINK ABOUT THEM EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE AND ALL THE TIMES IN BETWEEN...YOU LOVE SEEING THEM EVEN IF IT'S WHEN THEY JUST WAKE UP WITH MESSY HAIR AND BAD BREATH...YOUR BREATH IS CAUGHT WHEN THEY KISS YOU... LOVE IS GIVEN TO SOMEONE IN THE BEST AND WORST OF TIMES. YOU PRAISE THE ONE YOU LOVE WHEN THEY DO SOMETHING OUTSTANDING, WHEN YOUR PROUD OF THEM, YOU HUG AND KISS THEM WHEN YOU'VE MISSED THEM OR JUST WANT THEIR PHYSICAL TOUCH WHICH IS SO ENCHANTING TO YOU WHEN YOU FIRST FALL IN LOVE AND HOPEFULLY STAYS THAT WAY THROUGHOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP. BUT TRUE LOVE STAYS THERE THROUGH THE OBSTACLES AND HARDSHIPS. IF THAT PERSON MAKES YOU SO MAD YOU CAN'T STAND IT, YOU TAKE THE TIME TO COMPROMISE WITH THE SITUATION, AND WORK THROUGH THE PROBLEM. YOU HELP EACH OTHER LEARN LIFE'S LESSONS AND YOU NEVER LEAVE THEIR SIDE. WHAT ABOUT THE 'I LIKE YOU' FACTOR? YEAH, WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE...AT THE CROSS ROADS OF LIKE AND LOVE....IT'S FUNNY HOW LIFE DOES CIRCLES AND PUTS YOU IN THAT POSITION SO MANY TIMES THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE TIME. FIRST OF ALL IT DOESN'T HAPPEN UNTIL IT'S READY...IT CAN'T BE FORCED AND IT CAN'T BE MANIPULATED. IF SOMEONE DOES PUSH IT, THEN THIER NOT WORTH IT, BUT IF THEY RE-EVALUATE AND GIVE YOU TIME AND SPACE, THEN THEY MAY BE WORTH SOMETHING. YOU KNOW YOU LIKE SOMEONE RIGHT OFF THE BAT. USUALLY YOU'LL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON...LIKE INTERESTS (BIKES, GOING OUT CERTAIN PLACES....), BACKGROUND (NOT BEING DEPENDENT ON OTHERS IS ONE OF MINE), OR EVEN THINGS LIKE PAST RELATIONSHIPS (MY LAST BIG ONE WAS ABOUT THREE YEARS, VERY SERIOUS, THEY LEFT ME AND CHEATED IN THE PROCESS.) LIKE IS NOTHING LIKE LOVE, BUT YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW THAT BECAUSE YOUR ALL IN THE SAME 'LIFE CYCLE' BOAT AS THE REST OF US. IF YOUR LOOKING THOUGH,...MY BEST ADVICE: STOP LOOKING. YOU'LL NEVER FIND THE RIGHT PERSON THAT WAY AND END UP MAD BECAUSE OF ALL THE WRONG ONES. (I WOULD KNOW THIS FIRST HAND.) AND IF YOU FIND SOMEONE AND THEY AREN'T INTERESTED...THE BEST THING TO DO IS GIVE THEM THE SPACE THEY WANT AND SEE WHERE IT GOES. THAT'S IF YOU REALLY CARE.

Crowds gather in The Villages, Leesburg to grieve for mother, pray for missing son
BY FRANK STANFIELD, AUSTIN L. MILLER AND FRED HIERS

STAR-BANNER

LEESBURG - Police are launching a massive search this morning in the Ocala National Forest for 2-year-old Trenton Duckett, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

More than 60 police and rescue workers will be searching an area east of Farles Lake, including 18 or 19 K-9 units and Marion County Fire-Rescue's Technical Rescue Team, which is trained in wilderness rescues.

Today's hunt for the missing child comes one day after his mother, Melinda Duckett, was eulogized in an afternoon memorial service in The Villages, and an evening candlelight vigil for Trenton was held in the Leesburg downtown square.

"I hope they don't find anything," Joshua Duckett told the Star-Banner, referring to what could turn out to be the discovery no one wants to think about.

"We're putting out fliers," he said, referring to volunteers, including Mark Lunsford, whose daughter, Jessica, was abducted and killed in Citrus County last February. "We hope he's still out there."

Leesburg police at first described the tip that led them to the Ocala National Forest as a "routine tip," but Capt. Steve Rockefeller Friday conceded it was actually a "notch above" because the tipster said he not only saw but talked to Melinda, and saw the boy in her 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse the weekend she reported him kidnapped from her apartment. Police are not disclosing his name or saying what day he saw her (she reported him missing on Sunday, Aug. 27), in case someone else calls in with information.

LAWYER TALKS OF TRIP
Rockefeller refused to discuss a news story in the Orlando Sentinel on Friday quoting Melinda Duckett's lawyer as saying her client told her she did in fact go to the forest that weekend.

Duckett reportedly told her divorce attorney, Kimberly Schulte, that she made a rambling eight-hour car trip with Trenton hours before she reported that someone had cut the screen to his bedroom window and kidnapped him.

The road trip stretched from her apartment in Leesburg, to the forest, to the Altamonte Mall and T.D. Waterhouse Center in Seminole and Orange counties.

Duckett was supposedly on her way to a public gun range in the forest to try out a shotgun she had recently purchased. However, she could not find the range, Schulte said.

Duckett then supposedly went south toward the Orlando area. Schulte did not return repeated phone calls to the Star-Banner.

Rockefeller refused to disclose any investigative details about that part of her trip, including whether mall security videotape showed the 21-year-old woman and her son in the parking lot, or whether anyone saw her at the arena best known as the home of the Orlando Magic basketball team.

Suspicion has fallen on Duckett because she refused to take a polygraph and because she is the last one to report seeing Trenton.

MEMORIAL SERVICE
Most of the day Friday was draped in sorrow, especially as mourners gathered for a memorial service at Chapel of Christian Faith church in The Villages.

Melinda's parents, Jerry and Beth Eubank, of Lockport, N.Y., attended, as well as her grandparents, Bill and Nancy Eubank, of The Villages of Lady Lake. The senior Eubanks attend the church that was filled Friday with 300 people who showed up to pay their respects.

Melinda's parents were whisked away in a kind of shell game of cars, with Jerry Eubank squealing the tires of his Ford Explorer in the church parking lot to avoid speaking with the reporters and photographers who had waited for an hour to speak with the family.

Not everyone rushed to leave, however."I knew Melinda. She was a kind and delightful person. She was devoted to her child," said Miriam Chevalier, owner of the day-care center where Melinda Duckett often dropped off Trenton.

"I feel there's been a lot of rumors going on without knowing the actual facts," Chevalier said leaving the service. "There's not enough to judge, so I don't know what to believe," she said.

"He's a wonderful little boy," she said. "The kind you want to hold and kiss and not let go. I just hope he's found."

Chevalier owns It's a Kid's World in Fruitland Park.

"[Trenton] was always smiling and got along well with all the other kids," she said.

Melinda was also not acting in any way to suggest there was a problem, according to Chevalier.

Villages resident Margie Brady said she sometimes spoke with Melinda and Trenton when they came to the church with Melinda's grandparents.

"She was pushed over the edge," Brady said of Duckett's suicide last Friday at her grandparents' home. "She was under a lot of pressure."

"And Trenton was a precious little boy," Brady said. "Melinda loved him."

TROUBLING RECORDS
Court records obtained by the Star-Banner, however, did shed some light on the deeply troubled family life of the estranged couple.

Last April, Joshua Duckett complained to a Sumter County Sheriff's deputy that Melinda was "squeezing, shaking and threatened to harm their son."
The Department of Children & Families and Bushnell Police Department said they found no evidence of abuse.

A month later, after DCF became involved with the family on May 2, Joshua Duckett was given custody of Trenton for a time.

A month later, Joshua filed a motion for voluntary dismissal in a surprising letter.

"I want to state that my former fiancee, Melinda M. Eubank, is not crazy and is not nor has she ever been an unfit mother," he wrote on June 13 of last year.
The legal battle was not over, however. She was awarded sole custody on May 23 of this year.

On June 14 she filed for divorce, according to a Lake County court record, and on "or about" July 3, she said in a sworn statement that she had received a threatening e-mail from Joshua to her MySpace.com account. The court file was stamped Aug. 28, the day after Trenton was reported missing, and had been filed, apparently on Aug. 25, by Schulte.

"I hate you because you ruined my life and took my son," the e-mail, allegedly from Joshua, began.

The excerpt of the copy submitted to the court file, including misspellings and punctuation said:
"i am going to hunt you and your damn son down one day and kill both of you. years ago you stole my heart. . ." the expletive filled message said.

"I don't even think Trenton is my son anyway and your going to pay for what you've done to my life. i want you to be put through torture."

Joshua Duckett declined to address the e-mail issue head-on, saying: "I'm not allowed to talk about it."

He said investigators have asked him not to talk about it.
"The truth will be known in time," he said.

RAINY NIGHT VIGIL
Joshua's friends, Kay Moats, 19, and Sarah Goepfert, 22, organized Friday night's vigil in Leesburg.

Edward and Sandra Hovatter of Fruitland Park, who have a 6-year-old son, Clayton, had not planned to come to the 7:30 p.m. vigil, but they wanted to be supportive.

"We have a child and it hits home," said Sandra Hovatter.
They hoped their prayers would be answered.

"I hope so. I pray he's found alive, but reality sets in. I hope for my sake I'm proven wrong," she added.

A 20-minute downpour couldn't break the resolve of the 300 who showed up to pray and sing "It Is Well With My Soul."

At least one spectator brought a mixed message.
Chase Newcomb, a man in his 20s, put a McDonald's Happy Meal at the base of the city fountain.

"I don't think he'll enjoy another one," Newcomb said.

Not everyone agreed.
"We still have faith we're not giving up until we find him, Goepfert said, while holding her 8-month-old son, Landon.

Joshua Duckett said though he misses his son, he is confident he will be found alive.

"Yes, I'm 100 percent confident. It is the only way to think so."

His mother, Carla Massero said she's praying "for a safe return. I'm staying confident and I'm keeping faith," she said.

Agencies participating with Leesburg police in today's search include the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Division of Forestry.

STAND UP AND RALLY FOR NANCY GRACE

Okay folks, here's what's going on so far. In case you didn't know, Nancy is getting a lot of flack for her interview with Melinda Duckett on Friday's show. Scarborough Country and Tucker Carlson are the first MSNBC guilty parties. Here are two very rough transcripts of their shows today.

Scarborough Country
"have their act together, right? >> My take on this is that this was an interrogation. This was a ratings interrogation. This is not the type of interview you do, whether she intentionally sandbag this woman are not. As an investigator, i would know that this woman was fragile. I would know that if she had anything to have done with her child' s disappearance or death that she could be suicidal. That there may be passed suicidal ideation and her life. I would have been very careful the way i handled hurt in an interview and not sandbagged her and pounded my fist and screamed and demanded answers on television. Nancy grace is not an investigator. She is not an interrogator. That is the job of police. I think nancy inserted herself in an active investigation with the witness at best. >> Because of that, we may not know what happened if she was a criminal, if she was responsible. Who knows? How are we ever going to find out? I want to show another clip of the show before going to rob. >> Have you taken a polygraph? >> Like i said, at anything i do is in cooperation with them. I' m doing everything they want me to do but as far as details i am leaving everything up to them. >> Have you taken a polygraph? >> I' ve done everything they asked me to. >> To you think she went over the line? -- Do you think she went over the line? >> She has a definite style that works for many people. She is a crime victim and a crimes advocate. If people go on her show is because she really helps people discover what happens in various crimes. The producers of the show are tremendously nurturing. I cannot imagine the not going over some of the questions including nazis style with melinda prying to it -- prior to her being on the air. You have to remember if this woman did kill her son, people who suffer or are guilty of -- who actually kill their children very often suffer from severe mental illness and are under tremendous stress. >> We do not know that. It is not her job to figure out whether she did it or not? >> That is not her job and how dare nancy grace say in the judge, in the jury, and the executioner. >> That is not what ships sheet -- that is not what she does. Then what you said that these are terrific dinner drink producers. They may be. Let me ask you this. If this woman really was so ill- prepared and that said the dead and fragile, you are telling me that at decrease cost producers ought to of said she does not belong on national television. You think that is what they would have said? I worked very closely with the >> I do. producers and very often tell nancy that this person is a strong talker or this person responds well to this type of questioning. >> What did they say about this woman? >> Nancies you was she was advocating for melinda' s son. She wanted to help this woman find out where this little boy was. She felt that the line of questioning would help with the case. She' s advocating for this little boy. >> It may be nurturing that looked like ambush television to me. We' re all professionals and have all been on tv enough to know when there is an ambush interview and when there is not. Let' s listen to what she had to say. She told viewers she did not believe her program was responsible for the suicide. >> I did not feel that our show is to blame for what happened to her. The truth is not always nice or polite or easy to go down. Sometimes it is harsh and it I would like to also point out hurts. that melinda -- melinda committed suicide before that interview ever aired. >> But obviously she committed suicide after the interview -- knowing she was about to be abused on national tv. >> Weight. She did this because she knew -- >> one at a time. >> She knew that the interview had already taken place. Nancy grace still in service herself in this. I watched your show tonight. She spent 45 minutes trying to reach appellate -- rehabilitate herself, trying to tell this redid the public that there was suicidal ideation already there. What all the terrible things she has done. Making this woman, whether she killed her son are not, she is a victim. She was a victim of a challenge in life. It is a terrible thing if her son was kidnapped predicted that. It is a terrible thing she had anything to do with it. She was our best potential witness and that is somebody you handled with kid gloves. You do not have your over that with a phone book. >> We have to go but i will give you the last word. >> Nancy lives her life with dignity. She lives her life with passion and she really believes in what she does and i know that she would never want any harm to come to anybody that is on her show. >> She did not help. >> No doubt about it. >> On this when you' re out voted 3-1. Bank you for being with us. It is a real tragedy. Thank you. We will see later. Still have, rosie o' donnell offends christians with your comments that appear -- compare american christians with islamic fascists. Barbara walters thinks she can talk to the animals. We will show you why the view has been cracked. Is one of the most popular shows Like i said, at anything i do is in cooperation with them. I' m doing everything they want me to do but as far as details i am leaving everything up to them."

Tucker Carlson
"Transcript: As we told you in our "beat the press" segment nancy grace is under fire for questioning a mother of a missing child. Clint van zant is an you on thursday. What did nancy grace do wrong? Well, we have to understand. I am no longer an f.B.I. Agent, and nancy grace is no longer a prosecutor, she is not an investigater, and in the interview that i saw, she stepped over the line because she started to intear gate the mother of this missing child. She lost the ability to understand this could be a witness or a subject in a criminal case. If you are going to question them, that's the job of law enforcement for a very careful constructed interview. My readings about this young women who has committed suicide, she was very dell qut psychologically and had a number of challenges, and things nancy grace may not known about, but the police would have. They were able to look at the woman's email messages and her myspace.Com blog. But you reach a line where you did not step across and become the prosecutor and you don't become the intear gator. You ask questions, but leave the tough questions up to police. At least recognize that these are human beings, and not props in your own reality television program. They are people who have these dramas and tradge adisease going on in their lives and you should treat them as such. On television, the drama lasts for an hour, and then we click over to another channel. Whatever this 21-year-old had to do with her child missing or dead, we don't know yet. That's law enforcement's job, but we know that was one of the critical people that could have solved this case, when her grandfather says in an interview that nancy grace skept pounding and pounding, i don't blame nancy grace for this women's death, but there is a lesson to be learned, and don't ask questions and don't become the investigater in the case, leave that to the police. And don't be so awful in general. I think that's good advice too. And there is a culture of saw spishen that existed i notice among prosecutors who have television shows, where the husband or the lover you had one, and it's always the parents, and there are cases where the children are hurt and the parents did not do that. Isn't that right? I think so. Whether your name is john wall much or ramsey, you know that you always become an initial suspect. That's simply understood. And this mother would have understood that too. But the questioning that she went under on television, where were you? Why aren't you telling us where you were? Why aren't you taking a pauly graph examination? Those are not questions the media should be asking, and those are questions the police need to answer. This woman was dell qut and fragile psychologically, i believe, and i would have gone with a carefully structured questioning, if she had anything to do with her child's death she would be a potential candidate for suicide. Well, you are not a reckless gas bag when separates you from who we are talking about. Why would this woman go on that show? Well, what she thought the show would be, where she thought she would be able to share information about her missing son, or whether she knew that she would be subject to a blistering interrogation. That's the pitch, you have a missing child and you want to get the word out, and maybe somebody will know what happened to your baby, come on my show, and she comes on and gets sandbagged. Does not sound right? No, we ought to cast ratings aside and the names of shows aside and be more concerned with people. This is a fragile woman that was on the surface about ready to break, and we have a missing child, and now the investigation is further complicated. We don't know what happened to this 2-year-old boy, and now the mother put a shot gun to her head and blew her own brains out because of the stress she felt, according to her grandparents, attributable to the media pressure placed on her."

Now I do hear that Bill O'Reilly and possibly Hannity and Combs will be discussing the same subject tomorrow. We should email CNN and MSNBC in support of Nancy Grace. I am doing my best to try to find more ways to help with support. I have my "feelers" out looking.

UPDATE: Here's what I've been told we can do also, if you send me a private email in support of Nancy Grace at sunnydaze_28@ yahoo.com , I will forward it to a person who will send it to Nancy's private email address.

Great words on a sad day in history

You know, I'd always believed that the greatest American generation is the one that was living in the here and the now. The question has always been, when were we going to wake up?

I remember when I was a kid. I was about this tall, and we were staying at my grandparents' house in the summer. And every morning my grandma would open the attic door and call up the wooden stairs. She'd say, "Kids, it's time to wake up." For me, she'd have to do this a couple of times before I'd finally lumber out of bed and cross the cold, squeaky wooden floor.

But finally, I would, and she'd be there in the kitchen. She'd be making breakfast. Grandpa would already be outside. He's been in the hen house, because "there was work to do." They were hardworking people. They were good and decent people.

Seemed to me that they were from not only a different time but I always thought they were from a different place. They weren't. The spirit of our parents and our grandparents, it isn't from some foreign place. It hasn't died out. It's the flame that flickers in all Americans. It's what sets us apart. It's what built this country. It's why our borders still teem with the poor and the tired and those yearning to be free. It burned with zeal from the immigrants from every corner of the earth who came here searching for a better way of life.

The flame that Lady Liberty holds up is the American spirit. It burns deep within all of us, no matter what your race or your gender or your religious background.

Out of all of the things that we have built, the powerful machines, the computers, the weapons of mass destruction that are buried in the middle of the heartland, the hardware and the software that we have spent millions on every single year to protect and keep the plans secret, our biggest seeming secret, the one the world wants most of all, isn't a secret at all. It's something that we would freely give to the rest of the world.

And while it seems so self-evident to us, for some reason it can't be duplicated. Yet it can be passed on from person to person, torch to torch. It is the American spirit.

If you weren't trapped in one of those towers five years ago, if you weren't on a plane or in the Pentagon, then you have reason to fall to your knees and humbly give thanks today.

Oh, it was a beautiful fall morning, on the edge of the land created by divine providence. Coffee shops were open. Children were on buses. People were easing into their typical workday when America's greatest generation heard the voice: "Kids, it's time to wake up."

Several times we had ignored the voice. We drifted back into twilight sleep muttering, "I know, I know. In a minute."

But, finally, we are awake and out of bed, for there is much work to do. The task before us now, it's much more daunting than what our parents and our grandparents faced, but we're stronger. We're a more prepared nation.

The torch has been passed. We are the greatest American generation. The American spirit is alive and well. Our flame has not burned out. It had just been dimmed while we were asleep.

As I sit this early morning and reflect upon those events which happened exactly five years ago, I can't help but think of those who lost their lives not knowing what was actually going on in the United States. There was no warning, no way for anyone to communicate with the outside world. Then I sit and wonder if this country is better and safer now than it was five years ago and if we are still focusing on what really matters. I know I will never forget this day and I hope none of you will either. It took a coward to do what was done to this country and we will overcome. We shall rise up and take a final stand against those who attempt to kill our freedom, our way of life that has been fought for over 200 years. Please take time today in remembering those who have fought for us and those who have lost their lives living what has been fought for.

Ahhh, the Moon!

September 2006 features the first northernmost moon of the century, as well as the closest full moon and farthest new moon of the year. In addition, a partial lunar eclipse at full moon, September 7, and an annular solar eclipse at new moon, September 22, will also occur.

Northernmost Moon

Northern and southernmost moons come in cycles of approx 19 years. The last northernmost moon fell on September 15, 1987; the next will occur March 7, 2025. This year the northernmost moon is on September 14 EDT. In the U. S., except Alaska, the moon will be underneath the horizon at this time.
Closest Full MoonFull moon occurs the night of September 7-8; of all the full moons this year, this moon aligns most closely with perigee, the closest monthly approach to the earth. A full or new moon coinciding with perigee brings forth a perigean spring tide, which further accentuates the extreme monthly variation between high and low tides.

Farthest New Moon

At it's apogee, point in the moon's orbit farthest from earth, the moon is directly between the earth and sun. Since sunlight only illuminates the far side of the moon, it appears dark or faintly visible from earth.
Partial Lunar Eclipse A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth's shadow falls over the moon. Lunar eclipses occur, on average, about every 6 months. When only part of the moon enters the earth's umbra, darker core of shadow, a partial eclipse will result.

Annular Solar Eclipse

The September 22 new moon and sun are in perfect alignment, therefore a visible ring, or annulus of sunshine, surrounds the moon at this time. This is called an annular solar eclipse, which is significant to the northernmost moon because it occurs so close to the September 23 equinox.

Well, this is a little better

Teammate doesn't expect Roethlisberger
to miss more than 1 game

By ALAN ROBINSON
Associated Press Sports
Updated: 8:15 p.m. ET Sept 4, 2006

PITTSBURGH (AP) -Ben Roethlisberger will miss at least one game following his emergency appendectomy. Hines Ward, who had the same procedure four years ago, will be surprised if the Pittsburgh quarterback misses a second.
After all, Ward said, isn't Roethlisberger's remarkably fast recovery from his June motorcycle accident proof enough how fast a healer he is?
Unless there are some unexpected medical complications, Ward expects Roethlisberger to play in the second game of the season Sept. 18 in Jacksonville. Because the Steelers play the NFL's season-opening game Thursday against Miami, they will have 11 days off before their next game.
"He's going to do whatever it takes to play against Jacksonville. He doesn't like to miss games,'' Ward said Monday. "Knowing Ben, he's going to be there for Jacksonville.''
Ward, a four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, spoke with some knowledge of the situation. He also had an appendectomy during the preseason, in 2002, but returned 17 days later to make eight catches in the Steelers' opener against New England.
Ward was still in pain, but not to the point it affected his play.
"You're not going to be 100 percent - you just went under the knife - and it all depends on how much pain tolerance he has,'' Ward said. "Ben's a guy who's played with pain before.''
Roethlisberger broke his nose, upper and lower jaw, some eye socket bones and got a concussion during his June 12 motorcycle accident, but didn't miss any training camp time because of it.
The quarterback was released from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian on Monday following his third operation in less than a year. Coach Bill Cowher said he won't discuss Roethlisberger's playing status until next week.
"He's doing fine and eating well and walking around. ... He's eager to get back,'' Cowher said. "The best thing about it is the surgery went well.''
Losing Roethlisberger is a setback to the Super Bowl champions going into a difficult opener against Miami, Ward said, but he emphasized how they went 2-0 with Charlie Batch as a fill-in starter last season.
Batch looked rusty while throwing for only 65 yards in a 20-10 victory in Green Bay on Nov. 6, his first substantial game action in nearly four years. He was much sharper a week later, going 13-of-19 for 150 yards during a 41-0 rout of Cleveland while Roethlisberger was out following arthroscopic knee surgery.
"You think you can jump right in and the game speed is going to come right away, and it didn't happen,'' said Batch, the Lions' starter for most of four seasons from 1998-2001. "I was kind of a split-second off while I was in Green Bay, but I was able to rebound when I came back against Cleveland. Definitely, having those games was good.''
Batch doesn't expect to be off on his timing against Miami after spending considerable time practicing with the starting offense during camp.
Ward said the offensive game plan wasn't altered despite the change at quarterback.
"It is disappointing for us watching Ben get better, working his tail off to get back to where he was, and it's frustrating,'' Ward said. "But we've got to rally around Charlie. The confidence and comfort level with Charlie, it's there.''
Ward returned to practice this week and expects to play after missing much of training camp with a sore hamstring.
The Steelers signed their one-time No. 3 quarterback, Brian St. Pierre, to their practice squad Monday. Either St. Pierre or rookie Omar Jacobs, also currently on the practice squad, will be Batch's backup Thursday.
Batch grew up in Pittsburgh and was an elementary school classmate of Dolphins defensive star Jason Taylor, so he expects to be more pumped up than usual starting a season opener. Batch hasn't played in an opener since 2001 with Detroit, but now gets to start one in his hometown.
"I've got to calm myself down because I'm excited, and to be able to start at home and do this in front of family and friends is great,'' Batch said. "I haven't had too many opportunities to play at Heinz Field and that's why I'm excited. But my mom is probably more excited than me, so I'll have to calm her down.''
Batch attended the Virginia-Pitt game with Roethlisberger on Saturday night, and was as surprised as anyone to learn 12 hours later that he was ill and would miss at least one game.
"I never imagined anything was wrong with him,'' Batch said. "But that's why I'm here. I'm glad to have this opportunity and a couple of days to prepare for that. Most of the time, your number is called and you just run into the game.''

R.I.P. STEVE IRWIN

'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin dead

SYDNEY, Australia (CNN) -- Steve Irwin, the enthusiastic "Crocodile Hunter" who enthralled audiences around the world with his wildlife adventures, died Monday morning after being stung by a stingray while shooting a TV program off Australia's north coast.
Media reports say Irwin was snorkeling at Batt Reef, a part of the Great Barrier Reef about 9 miles (about 15 kilometers) from the town of Port Douglas, when the incident happened.
Irwin, 44, was killed by a stingray barb that pierced his chest, according to Cairns police sources.
Irwin was in the area to film pieces for a show called "The Ocean's Deadliest" with Philippe Cousteau, grandson of Jacques, according to Irwin's manager and friend John Stainton. But weather had prevented the crew from doing work for that program, Stainton said, so Irwin decided to do some softer features for a new children's TV show he was doing with his daughter, Bindi.
"He came over the top of a stingray that was buried in the sand, and the barb came up and hit him in the chest," Stainton said.
Wildlife documentary maker Ben Cropp, citing a colleague who saw footage of the attack, told Time.com that Irwin had accidentally boxed the animal in. "It stopped and twisted and threw up its tail with the spike, and it caught him in the chest," said Cropp. "It's a defensive thing. It's like being stabbed with a dirty dagger." Queensland Police Services also confirmed Irwin's death and said his family had been notified.
Irwin was director of the Australia Zoo in Queensland. He is survived by his American-born wife, Terri, and their two children, Bindi Sue, born 1998, and Robert (Bob), born December 2003.
"The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet," Stainton told reporters in Cairns, according to The Associated Press. "He died doing what he loved best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. He would have said, 'Crocs Rule!' " (Watch a remembrance of Steve Irwin -- 1:58)
"Steve was a larger-than-life force. He brought joy and learning about the natural world to millions and millions of people across the globe," said Discovery Communications founder and chairman John Hendricks in a statement. "We extend our thoughts and prayers to Terri, Bindi and Bob Irwin as well as to the incredible staff and many friends Steve leaves behind."
Irwin's "Crocodile Hunter" show aired on the company's Animal Planet network.
Discovery Communications said it will rename the garden space in front of Discovery's world headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, the "Steve Irwin Memorial Sensory Garden."
The company also is looking at the creation of a Steve Irwin Crocodile Hunter Fund. The fund will support wildlife protection, education and conservation, as well as aid Irwin's Australia Zoo and provide educational support for Bindi and Bob Irwin, the company said.
Australia Prime Minister John Howard said he was "shocked and distressed at Steve Irwin's sudden, untimely and freakish death," according to AP. "It's a huge loss to Australia."
Irwin became a popular figure on Australian and international television through Irwin's close handling of wildlife, most notably the capture and relocation of crocodiles.
Irwin's enthusiastic approach to nature conservation and the environment won him a global following. He was known for his exuberance and use of the catch phrase "Crikey!" (E-mail us: How will you remember Steve Irwin?)
"His message is really about conservation: He really wants to leave the world a better place for everybody," Animal Planet's Maureen Smith told CNN.com in April.
"It's unbelievable, really," Jack Hanna, the host of "Jack Hanna's Animal Adventure" and director emeritus of the Columbus (Ohio) Zoo, told CNN. "You think about Steve Irwin and you think of people who are invincible."
Hanna, a friend of Irwin's, noted that Irwin's persona of the Crocodile Hunter was no act. Irwin grew up around crocodiles, snakes and other animals at his parents' Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park and had been handling such creatures since he was a child.
"Steve really knew what he was doing. He was one of the finest reptile people in the world. He knew more about reptiles than anybody did. He was raised that way," said Hanna.
Though stingrays can be threatening, their sting -- usually prompted by self-defense -- is not often fatal. The bull ray that apparently stung Irwin was "a one-in-a-million thing," Cropp told Time.com. "I have swum with many rays, and I have only had one do that to me." (Watch a marine biologist talk about the dangers of stingrays -- 3:48)
"A wild animal is like a loaded gun -- it can go off at any time," Hanna said. "You have to be careful of that." But, he added, it's not the animals who are inherently dangerous, but the way they may react around humans. "People use the word 'dangerous,' and that sometimes is a word that's not fair to that animal, because that animal is only using the defenses that God gave it," said Hanna.

Rise to popularity

Irwin became popular with his show "Crocodile Hunter," which first aired on Australian TV in 1992. Eventually, the program was picked up by Discovery in the United States, establishing Irwin worldwide.
His popularity led to a film, "The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course" (2002).
Irwin was caught in a minor flap in January 2004 when he held his then 1-month-old son while feeding a crocodile at his Australian zoo. (Full story)
In 2003, Irwin spoke to the Australian Broadcasting Corp.'s "Australian Story" television program about how he was perceived in his home country.
"When I see what's happened all over the world, they're looking at me as this very popular, wildlife warrior Australian bloke," he told the ABC.
"And yet back here in my own country, some people find me a little bit embarrassing. You know, there's this ... they kind of cringe, you know, 'cause I'm coming out with 'Crikey' and 'Look at this beauty.' "
At Australia Zoo at Beerwah, south Queensland, floral tributes were dropped at the entrance, where a huge fake crocodile gapes, the AP reported. Drivers honked their horns as they passed.
"Steve, from all God's creatures, thank you. Rest in peace," was written on a card with a bouquet of native flowers.
"We're all very shocked. I don't know what the zoo will do without him. He's done so much for us, the environment and it's a big loss," said Paula Kelly, a local resident and volunteer at the zoo, after dropping off a wreath at the gate, according to the AP.
"He has left a legacy: That people do love some of the unloved animals like crocodiles and reptiles that people wanted to kill," Stainton told CNN. "He's actually put a position in their hearts for them. I want that to continue. ... I want people to really go out there and remember Steve Irwin for what he really was, which was a great conservationist, saving wildlife and actually promoting wildlife that people didn't love."

THIS IS HILARIOUS!!! Enjoy! :)

SIPPING VODKA
A new priest at his first mass was so nervous he could hardly speak. After mass he asked the monsignor how he had done. The monsignor replied, "When I am worried about getting nervous On the pulpit, I put a glass of vodka next to the water glass. If I start to get nervous, I take a sip." So next Sunday he took the monsignor's advice. At the beginning of the sermon, he got nervous and took a drink. He proceeded to talk up a storm.

Upon his return to his office after the mass, he found the following note on the door:

1) Sip the vodka, don't gulp.

2) There are 10 commandments, not 12.

3) There are 12 disciples, not 10.

4) Jesus was consecrated, not constipated.

5) Jacob wagered his donkey, he did not bet his ass.

6) We do not refer to Jesus Christ as the late J.C.

7) The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are not referred to as Daddy, Junior and the spook.

8) David slew Goliath, he did not kick the sh*t out of him.

9) When David was hit by a rock and was knocked off his donkey, don't say he was stoned off his ass.

10) We do not refer to the cross as the "Big T."

11) When Jesus broke the bread at the last supper he said, "take this and eat it for it is my body." He did not say "Eat me".

12) The Virgin Mary is not called "Mary with the Cherry.

13) The recommended grace before a meal is not: Rub-A-Dub-Dub thanks for the grub, Yeah God.

14) Next Sunday there will be a taffy pulling contest at St.Peter's not a peter pulling contest at St. Taffy's.

Well this really sucks!!!

QB Roethlisberger undergoes appendectomy, out of opener

September 3, 2006

PITTSBURGH (Ticker) - Ben Roethlisberger will not be under center when the Pittsburgh Steelers begin defense of their Super Bowl title on Thursday night.

Roethlisberger underwent an emergency appendectomy on Sunday afternoon.

The latest setback for Roethlisberger comes four months after he suffered serious facial injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Roethlisberger arrived at the team's practice facility on Sunday morning, was feeling ill and was sent to see the team doctors, who performed the surgery.

"The surgery went well," Steelers coach Bill Cowher said. "He is obviously going to be out this week and we will go week-to-week from there."

Charlie Batch will start on Thursday when the Steelers host the Miami Dolphins.

Roethlisberger was injured in a motorcycle accident on June 12 and underwent surgery for multiple facial fractures, a broken upper and lower jaw and broken nose. He also suffered a mild concussion, lost two teeth and chipped several others.

It was questionable whether Roethlisberger would be able to be ready by the start of training camp on July 28. But Roethlisberger reported on time and played in three of the club's four preseason games.

At 23 years of age, Roethlisberger became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl last February. He completed just 9-of-21 passes for 123 yards and was intercepted twice, but rushed for a touchdown in the Steelers' 21-10 win over Seattle in Super Bowl XL.

The 11th overall pick in the 2004 draft, Roethlisberger owns a 27-4 record, including 5-1 in the playoffs, as a starter. He is the first quarterback in the modern era to start a conference championship game in each of his first two NFL seasons.
